Social Media Metrics
In my effort to equip you and provide you with actionable and tangible ideas…Here I go with another series of “Actionable posts”, this time I am going to talk about measuring results in Social Media. You already know that measuring Social Media is not as easy as measuring other Marketing channels – when they can be measured – but yes, these can be measured with the right tools and approach.
Before You Start
Start by considering a monitoring and tracking strategy within your overall social media strategy. This will help you group your efforts into a progression where visibility and exposure lead your audience to take the desired action. By achieving this, you put the measurement of results in an ideal context, which will help you visualize how each of the actions brings you closer to the results you are looking for.
Social Media Metrics
After trying different things for a long time, I have found 5 practices that I use every day and find very useful. In other words, they equip me. Here they are:
1. Visibility and Exposure . Building brand awareness should be one of your main goals in Social Media. As soon as you start any campaign, you are likely starting from scratch, from nothing, and you already know that creating that awareness is not easy and a long road. Once you start and get deep into the habit of “doing,” you will get traction that will carry you forward. Then you will start to accelerate. You need to be able to measure this trend and keep track of your progress. While I recognize that there is no perfect metric to measure the increase in brand awareness, there are some signs that can give us insights into the state of our brand:
– Amount of traffic to the website
– Number of visits
– Number of page views
– Number of followers
– Number of subscribers
2. Sentiment and awareness. In social website development service media, awareness refers to the number of conversations about your brand versus your competitors. For this, it would be good to consider a monitoring program that can help you track all the mentions of your brand and your competitors' brands over a given period of time. Make sure you keep a close eye on both positive, negative, and neutral sentiment. You can then assign a person to each of the categories and calculate the average sentiment towards your brand.
3. Influence. Influence is the likelihood that what you do will be an inspiration to your followers. When a person is exposed to communication through an influencer, they are much more likely to buy or emotionally connect with you. An influencer is a person we trust and rely on, especially their opinion, so when these influencers share opinions, thoughts, reflections or ideas, the audience is more likely to adopt their message or agree with it.
Here are some traits I use to identify influence:
– Number and quality of inbound links to your content
– Twitter links that are RTed or commented on
– Comments and likes on your Facebook posts
– Content that is shared and recommended (and to what extent)
Being able to measure influence means knowing how many people you can motivate to take action. To calculate influence, it would be best to take a look and count how many influencers mentioned you and what their audience reach is. For example, let’s say an influencer who has 1.5 million followers on Twitter tweets about their service experience with your brand. You can count on an estimated 1.5 million impressions. The same goes for your blog posts or other social media mentions. If you can identify the number of followers or readers for each influencer, then you can estimate the influence of each mention. It’s very likely that this level of exposure will lead to more visibility and engagement. _________________ website development service |
